Raw Denim Daily Vs Common Projects.

Raw Denim Daily sits down with Common Projects founders Peter Poopat and Flavio Girolami.
Two best friends based in NYC holding the key to success, how did the do that? and what’s brings Common to are feet’s?
While Peter & Flavio were launching there new SS18 we were invited to have a quick interview with them here in the hart of Holland Amsterdam.

When did you decide that fashion was something you wanted to do?
Flavio: have had strong fashion influences from a very young age particularly due to having very chic parents and grandparents. I started designing 'onesies' before I even knew the word “Fashion” and what it meant {Laughs}. I have always paid great attention to people and the way they look. I love observing them, and interpreting them from what they wear. I have never had a that fashion is something I wanted to do, however I always somehow ended up in front of a sewing machine or fabric shops. I guess that’s just the way I process ideas.

What makes fashion important?
Prathan: The only way we can see fashion being truly important is when it's used effectively for self-expression. Subcultures and minorities can state their differences in a creative and positive manner, while fashion can also be used as a catalyst for social changes.
Outside of fashion, what influences your work?
Prathan: Flavio:
Architecture, paintings, sculpture and film all inspire us. They have the ability to transport you somewhere else entirely and looking back, We have tried to weave all these different aspects into are designs.

What is the key to success with Common Projects
Prathan: Flavio: The key to success is Risk it all with great quality, when we started to sell men shoes it’s was a high risk but it came out very well, are key to success was when we launched are women shoes out.
